What is a Facebook Pixel

Overview

The Facebook Pixel is a piece of code that goes in the Header of your website. With a pixel installed on your website or landing page, you are able to track how many visitors you have had. With that information, you are also able to identify what types of people are likely to make a purchase or become a lead.

What can you do with it?

Every time someone visits a page that has your Pixel code embedded, you are able to collect data. Once you have gathered enough data, you are able to use your Pixel in 2 different ways.

  1. Lookalike Audiences. You can use your pixel to target your most ideal clients based on things like Similar Interests, Age and Location, and more.

  2. Custom Audiences. You can reconnect with previous website visitors, and create retargeting campaigns to try and recapture them as a lead.

Why do you need it?

When running advertising traffic on Facebook, ensuring that your Pixel is installed properly is an absolute must. If you don't have a pixel you will not be able to track your advertising performance. This means you won't know how many people are opting in, and you won't know which ads are performing best for you.

Not having your pixel installed properly is the same as throwing your money up in the air and not knowing if you will ever see it again.
